MALIBU, Calif. --ย Second-ranked UCLA made some key defensive stops down the stretch to hold onto an 8-7 victory at No. 9 Pepperdine (13-8) on Saturday afternoon at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool. During halftime, the Waves honored their 1997 NCAA Championship team that beat USC in the finals 20 years ago. The Bruins improved to 13-1 on the year and 78-31-1 all-time against the Waves.

Freshman Chasenย Travisanoย led the Bruins with three goals against the Waves while senior Max Irving added two scores. Redshirt sophomore Alex Wolf played the entire game in goal, registering 12 saves and twoย steals while allowing seven goals (four on power plays).
