UCLA formally welcomed new head football coach Chip Kelly in a Monday afternoon press conference at the Pavilion Club in Pauley Pavilion. Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero introduced Kelly, who spoke to the room full of media and invited guests before answering questions.
"When you combine the No. 1 public academic school in the country with 113 national championships, there's broad-based excellence at UCLA," Kelly said. "And I'm really, really humbled to be a part of it."
A three-time Pac-12 champion while at the University of Oregon, Kelly brings 27 years of collegiate and professional coaching experience to the Bruins. He is the 17th head coach in program history.
