
Alex Wolf Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

Redshirt sophomore Alex Wolf of the UCLA men's water polo team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
Wolf was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 NCAA Championship after helping lead the Bruins to the national title with a 7-5 win over USC from the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on USC's campus. In the championship game, he made 10 saves and held the nation's No. 1 offense to just five goals, two on Trojan power plays. The five goals allowed were 10 goals under its national-leading average of 15.11. The Bruins advanced to the championship game with an 11-9 win over No. 5 Pacific in the semifinals as Wolf made five saves, while allowing nine goals, seven on Tiger power plays.
The NCAA championship is the program's 11th and UCLA's 114th overall. Joining Wolf on the NCAA All-Tournament first team were Alex Roelse and Max Irving, while Nicolas Saveljic was named to second team All-Tournament.
This is Wolf's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week of the season and of his career.
