Carlee Kapana Named MPSF Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- UCLA sophomore goalkeeper Carlee Kapana (Newport Beach, CA/Newport Harbor High School) was named the MPSF Player of the Week today as announced by the league.
Kapana totaled 13 saves and surrendered just one goal in the Bruins' 16-1 victory over the No. 6 UC Irvine Anteaters Friday. The sophomore, whose lone goal against came in the final minute of the third quarter, also recorded one assist and one steal in the Bruins' home opener. For the year, Kapana has amassed 77 saves in eight games (10.15/game) for the undefeated Bruins. She holds a 2.77 goals-against average.
This is Kapana's second career MPSF honor and first Player of the Week award.
The Bruins will next face No. 17 UC San Diego at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational on Feb. 24 (12:30 p.m.) Tournament action will continue through Sunday.
