UCLA senior Christine Peng-Peng Lee earned her fifth career Pac-12 Specialist of the Week award after scoring 9.975 on uneven bars and 9.925 on balance beam to win both events in UCLA's season opener on Saturday.
Lee was battling illness but pushed through to perform near-flawless routines. She earned a perfect 10 from one of the two judges on bars and led UCLA to a team score of 49.3 on the event. On balance beam, she helped secure UCLA's 14th consecutive 49.0 team score on the event with her 9.925.
UCLA will compete against Pac-12 foes Stanford, Utah and Washington on Sunday, Jan. 14 at Elevate the Stage - Reno.
