COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former UCLA standout players Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook have been named to the 35-player roster for the 2018-20 USA Men's Basketball National Team, as announced Friday by USA Basketball.
 
Love and Westbrook both helped the United States win a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, becoming the first UCLA players to compete for USA Basketball in the Olympics since Reggie Miller in 1996.
 
The initial list of 35 players includes 17 Olympic gold medalists and 29 past members of the USA Men's National Team pool. The 2018-20 USA Men's National Team roster of players are expected to attend the July 25-27 USA Men's National Team minicamp in Las Vegas.
 
The official, 12-member 2019 USA World Cup and 2020 U.S. Olympic teams, should the USA qualify to compete in China and Tokyo, are expected to be comprised of players from the 2018-20 USA National Team.
 
The 35-player pool includes 11 gold medalists from the 2016 Rio Olympic team, seven 2012 London Olympics gold medalists, eight members of the gold medalist 2014 FIBA World Cup Team and five players who were members of the 2010 USA team that secured the FIBA World Cup title.
 
Both currently in their 10th season in the NBA, Love and Westbrook helped Team USA capture the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
 
Westbrook is currently averaging 25.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 9.9 assists per game for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The former standout at Leuzinger High School has shot 45.2 percent from the field, most recently scoring a team-high 44 points against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
 
Love has averaged 17.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love, now in his fourth season with Cleveland, has shot 45.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point territory.
