CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - UCLA head women's golf coach Carrie Forsyth was named the 2017-2018 Golf Pride Grips WGCA West Region Coach of the Year on Friday, as announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
Forsyth, who just finished up her 19th season as the Bruins' head coach, was also named the Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year for the sixth time in her career earlier this week. She helped guide the Bruins to seven team victories, tying a single-season school record for wins, as well as the top overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and a tie for first in stroke play at the NCAA Championships.
This is Forsyth's fourth WGCA Region Coach of the Year award, as she also received the honor in 2004, 2010 and 2012.
The awards are determined by vote from the Division I Awards Committee upon review of the 10 highest-ranked coaches in each region and their respective records for the full year.
