The defending NCAA Champions will open the season at 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 1 vs. Fresno Pacific in the opening game of the UCLA Invitational.

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's water polo team announced its 2018 schedule today, highlighted by a conference home game against Stanford and road dates at California and USC. The two road MPSF matches will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network.

The defending NCAA Champions will compete in three different regular-season invitationals during the year, including at UCLA, at Princeton and at Stanford.

It all starts on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Spieker Aquatics Center as the Bruins face Fresno Pacific at 8:00 a.m. PT in the first game of the UCLA Invitational. UCLA will also face Whittier (10:30 a.m.) and Pomona-Pitzer (2:15 p.m.) before hosting USC in an exhibition game at 4:45 p.m.

UCLA will again head to Princeton, N.J., to compete in the Princeton Invitational on Sept. 7-9. That Invitational schedule has not been announced. The following week, the Bruins head to UC Santa Barbara for a Thursday night tilt at 7:00 p.m. before hosting Pepperdine (Noon) and Loyola Marymount (2:00 p.m.) on Saturday, Sept. 15. The Bruins will conclude the weekend with an Alumni Match at 3:30 p.m., also on Sept. 15.

The Bruins will head to Long Beach State on Sept. 21 for a 7:00 p.m. contest and return home to host UC Irvine at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. The following weekend, the Bruins will hit the road to face Pacific (Noon) on Saturday, Sept. 29 and conclude the weekend at UC Davis on Sunday, Sept. 30 (time TBD)

The Bruins open the month of October at home, hosting San Jose State on Saturday the 6th (time TBD) and conclude the day with an exhibition game against Golden West at 3:00 p.m.

The following weekend, UCLA will seek to defend its Mountain Pacific Invitational title at Stanford from Oct. 12-14.

Nearly two weeks later, the Bruins will open MPSF play in a nationally-televised game at California on Saturday, Oct. 27 (time TBD). The Bruins will open November with a home game against Stanford at Noon on the 3rd for Senior Day and will close out the regular season at USC on Saturday, Nov. 10 (time TBD) in another nationally-televised game.

USC will host the six-team MPSF Championship on Nov. 16-18 while Stanford will host the NCAA Championship on Dec. 2-3.

The Bruins finished the 2017 season by winning the program's 11th NCAA Championship and the school's 114th overall with a 7-5 victory at USC. UCLA finished the year with a 21-4 overall record. It was UCLA's third NCAA title in the last four years.
