The 2018 Concacaf Women's Championship begins on Oct. 4 with two current Bruins - Hailie Mace (U.S.) and Jessie Fleming (Canada) - playing on their respective national teams for a chance to qualify directly to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.
The eight-team tournament kicks off on Thursday in Cary, N.C. with Group A's Trinidad & Tobago facing Panama at 2pm PT and the host U.S. facing Mexico at 4:30pm PT. The U.S.-Mexico game will be televised on FS2. The U.S. will also face Panama on Oct. 7 at 2pm PT (TV: FS1) and Trinidad & Tobago on Oct. 10 at 4:30pm PT (TV: FS2).
Canada will begin play in Group B in Edinburg, Texas beginning on Friday, Oct. 5 at 5:30pm PT against Jamaica. The Canadians will also take on Cuba on Oct. 8 at 5:30pm PT and Costa Rica on Oct. 11 at 7pm PT. All three games will be televised live on FS1.
The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage in Frisco, Texas. The semifinals will take place on Oct. 14 at 2pm and 5pm PT, and the third and first-place matches will be held Oct. 17 at 2pm and 5pm PT, respectively. The top three finishers in the tournament will directly qualify to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. The fourth-place team will advance to a two-game playoff with Argentina.
Mace joins the U.S. team as a defender with two caps. Fleming, a veteran in the Canadian midfield, has 52 caps and six goals. Also on the U.S. team are former Bruin players Abby Dahlkemper, Sam Mewis and Mal Pugh.
All tournament games will be televised live on FS1 or FS2, as well as streamed live on FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports app.
