For the first time, both the UCLA men's and women's soccer teams have been awarded the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, recognizing exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.

UCLA is one of 192 programs to earn distinction in both the men's and women's programs. UCLA and Stanford are the only two Pac-12 schools to achieve the double. The Bruin women, who posted a 3.189 composite team GPA, have won this award seven consecutive years. This is the first for the UCLA men, who earned a 3.192 team GPA.

Additionally, the Bruin men won the UCLA Athletics Most Improved Team GPA Award for large teams, an award the women's team won the year before. The men also placed second amongst large teams for the highest GPA in 2017-18.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
