UCLA Tabbed Third in Pac-12 Preseason Poll

SAN FRANCISCO โ The UCLA baseball team was picked third in the Preseason Pac-12 Coaches Poll, announced the conference on Monday, as voted on by the conference's 11 head coaches. The Bruins received 84 points overall.
Oregon State was picked as the preseason favorite for the third-straight season, receiving 100 points and 10 of the 11 first-place votes. The Bruins came in third place behind Stanford with 88 points and the final first-place vote.
Coming in fourth was Arizona with 67 points, followed by California with 50, Washington with 49 and Arizona State with 40. Rounding out the preseason poll is USC with 30 points, Washington State with 18 and Utah at 15.
The Bruins are coming off a third-place finish in the Pac-12 last season and ended the season with a record of 30-27 to earn a spot in the Long Beach Regional. UCLA returns junior right-handed pitcher Jon Olsen who earned All-Pac-12 honors last season and was named a Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA. The offense returns Freshman All-American Michael Toglia who finished second on the team in home runs and RBIs.
The Bruins open the season with a three-game homestand against Portland starting on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Stadium.
