The Bruins extended their school-record dual match winning streak to 26 on Thursday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES. -- No. 1 UCLA extended its school-record dual match winning streak to 26 on Thursday afternoon with a 4-1 win at No. 6 Long Beach State (23-6) at LBSU's Sand Courts.
The Bruins, who improved to 31-3 on the year (the 31 wins are a school record for most in a season), return to action next Thursday, April 26 at the Pac-12 Championship at Stanford.
The Bruins opened the dual with Long Beach State with a win on court two as junior Sarah Sponcil and sophomore Lily Justine defeated LBSU's Megan Kruidhof and Rachel Nieto, 21-19, 21-17. Justine finished with a match-high 18 kills and added six digs and three blocks while Sponcil had 11 digs and eight kills.
Sophomore Madi Yeomans and senior Elise Zappia put the Bruins up 2-0, rallying for a three-set (18-21, 22-20, 15-13) win on court four over the 49ers' Zoi Konstantopoulou and Nicci Reinking. Yeomans had a match-high 32 kills and added 11 digs and one block while Zappia chipped in 11 digs and six kills.
Then on court one, juniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara sealed the dual match victory with a straight-set win over Long Beach State's Nele Barber and Sasha Karelov, 21-15, 21-19. Nicole McNamara finished with a match-high 15 kills, 14 digs and five aces while Megan McNamara added 10 kills and six digs.
On court five, the Bruins took a 4-0 lead as junior Izzy Carey and freshman Megan Muret extended their school-record 26 match winning streak, defeating LBSU's Hannah Matt and Marisa Ramey, 22-20, 21-19. Carey had 16 kills and four digs while Muret had 11 kills and eight digs in the win.
The Beach was able to score a point on court three as Kristyna Adamcikova and Hailey Harward held off the Bruins' pair of freshman Mac May and sophomore Savvy Simo in two tight sets, 21-19, 21-18. May had 11 kills with one ace and one block (digs were not kept on court three), while Simo contributed six kills.
In exhibition play, freshman Jamie McQuarrie and sophomore Chanti Holroyd took the first set off of LBSU's Emma Kirst and Alexis Patterson, 21-17, but dropped the second, 21-17. The match was truncated. McQuarrie had a match-high 13 kills to go with three digs and three blocks while Holroyd had seven digs, six kills and two aces.
