Stein Metzger Named National Coach of the Year

The USMC/AVCA chose Coach Metzger as the National Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

LEXINGTON, Ky. โ The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced this week that UCLA Head Coach Stein Metzger has been selected the USMC/AVCA Beach National Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. Additionally, Pepperdine Assistant Coach Marcio Sicoli was selected the AVCA National Assistant Beach Coach of the Year. This is the first time an assistant beach coach of the year honor has been awarded.
The Bruins won their first-ever NCAA Championship in beach volleyball on May 6 with a 3-1 win over No. 4 Florida State. UCLA set a school and NCAA record for wins, ending the year with a 40-4 record, which included going 35-4 against ranked teams.
