
Trio of Bruin Alums Compete at USATF Nationals

DES MOINES, Iowa โ The UCLA track & field program was represented by a trio of Bruin alumni at this week's USATF Outdoor Championships, with a pair taking away top-10 finishes.ย
2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Dawn Harper-Nelson had UCLA's best result at Nationals, coming in fifth in the women's 100m hurdle final with a time of 12.93. She advanced to the finals via times of 12.83 in the first round and 12.81 in the semifinal.
An All-American all four of her years at UCLA, Kylie Price was the ninth-place finisher in the women's long jump. Her top mark was 6.21m (20-4.5), recorded on her first attempt.
Last but not least, 2018 graduate and the fourth-place heptathlon finisher at this year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, Kendall Gustafson was in 10th place in the heptathlon after six events in Des Moines, but she didn't start the final event: the 800m.ย
Her best results were in the javelin (42.63m, 139-10, second place) and the high jump (1.75m, 5-8.75, third place).
