PRINCETON, N.J. --ย No. 1 UCLA improved to 6-0 on the year with a 16-6 win over Air Force (1-5) in the Bruins' third of five games at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Denunzio Pool.

The Bruins were led by sophomore Nicolas Saveljicย who scored three goals. Freshman Danny Roland played the entire game in the cage for the Bruins, recording a season-high 13 saves while allowing six goals.

UCLA led 5-1 at the end of the first period. Five different Bruins scored a goal in the opening stanza, beginning with three straight power play goals from sophomores Quinten Osborne and Evan Rosenfeld and freshman Matthew Kacura. Then after Saveljicย converted on a penalty shot, redshirt freshman Peter Lovasย scored from the front court to end the scoring in the first period.

The Bruins won the second period, 3-1, to take an 8-2 lead into the break. Kacura scored his second of the game on a counter attack, Saveljic added his second on a power play and Rosenfeldย netted his second on a counter to end the scoring in the first half.

UCLA pitched a shutout in the third quarter while posting four on the board to lead 12-2 heading into the fourth. Sophomore Felix Brozyna-Vilimย scored twice from two meters and sophomore Luke Henriksson scored on a strike from the front court. Saveljic would then complete his hat trick before the end of the period on a counter.

Another four goals followed for the Bruins in the fourth, but the Falcons found the back of the net four times as well, twice on power plays and once on a penalty shot, to provide the 16-6 final. Freshman Ashworth Molthenย opened the period with a goal on a 6-on-5 opportunity followed by a goal on a nice drive and finish from senior Kent Inoue. Redshirtย fresman Bailey Jarvis became the 10thย Bruin to score when he found the back of the net on a power play. Lovasย ended the scoring with his second goal of the game from the front court.
