UCLA senior Katelyn Ohashi earned Pac-12 Gymnastics Specialist of the Week honors for the fifth time in her career.
Ohashi, the 2018 Pac-12 Specialist of the Year, won both events she competed in the Bruins' season opening win over No. 11 Nebraska (197.250-195.700), taking first place on balance beam with a 9.900 and tying for first on floor exercise with a 9.950. The reigning NCAA floor exercise co-champion followed up her famous floor routine from last season with another surefire viral routine that has already garnered nearly 700,000 views on social media. Ohashi upgraded both of her balance beam and floor routines this season, adding difficulty to already impressive sets.
Her marks helped UCLA record its highest season-opening score in 14 years and improved the Bruins' winning streak to 29 opponents and nine meets.

Joining Ohashi in winning the weekly awards is Gymnast of the Week MyKayla Skinner of Utah and Freshman of the Week Cristal Isa of Utah.
No. 2 UCLA will compete against No. 9 California, No. 14 UC Davis and No. 33 Michigan State on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Collegiate Challenge powered by Under Armour at the Anaheim Arena.
