SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA women's tennis freshman Elysia Bolton was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3, the conference announced Tuesday.

The first road trip of Bolton's career did nothing to slow the freshman's early-season roll through the dual-match schedule. Three of her four weekend wins—including both singles victories—came in clinching fashion, helping the Bruins improve to 4-0 on the year.

Bolton defeated Oklahoma State's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat 7-5, 6-4 Saturday to complete UCLA's 4-1 win over a fellow top-10 opponent. She also teamed with Jada Hart to lock down the doubles point earlier in the day.

On Sunday, the Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. native posted a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Martina Okalova on the top court to seal a 4-0 win versus Tulsa. That capped Bolton's fourth spotless outing of the young season, as she paired with Hart for yet another win earlier in the day.

She now holds an 8-0 record across dual-match singles and doubles action.

The award represents the first of Bolton's career and 23rd all time for the UCLA women's tennis program.

ALSO NOMINATED: Camila Wesbrooks, ARIZONA; Sara Nayar, COLORADO; Shweta Sangwan, OREGON; Sydney Van Alphen, USC.
