LOS ANGELES - Head coach Michael Sealy has announced the addition of setter Cali Thompson to the 2019 UCLA women's volleyball roster. Thompson, a native of Las Vegas, spent the last three seasons at the University of Portland and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

"I am thrilled to get to work with Cali for her last year of eligibility," Sealy said. "She has run a fast-paced and effective offense at Portland for the past three seasons and I look forward to getting her in the gym this spring. She is someone who has worked hard in developing herself as a player and is absolutely aligned to what we are doing in our program."

Thompson led the Pilots in assists per set (10.69) and service aces (42) in 2018, while ranking third in digs per set (2.15). Her 1,326 assists placed her second on Portland's single-season list, while she also ranks fourth in program history in assists (3,658), fifth in aps (10.30) and 10th in aces (112).

Thompson never missed a set in her three-year career at Portland and twice was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team. As a sophomore in 2017, she had 1,174 assists (10.30 per set) and was second in aces (36) and fourth in dps (2.34). Thompson added 34 aces (second on the team) as a freshman when she was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team.
