Senior midfielder Jessie Fleming of the UCLA women's soccer team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 26-Sept. 2.
Fleming scored two goals in the first 35 minutes of the game to lead UCLA to a 2-1 win over No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Florida State at the Battle at the Banc on Thursday. The goals were her first of the young season and 23rd and 24th of her career, and the multi-goal game was her fifth, moving her into eighth on UCLA's career list. Against Florida in a 2-0 victory Sunday, Fleming drew a penalty kick that led to the game-winning goal.
This is Fleming's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season and seventh of her career.
