UCLA Remains Undefeated After Dual Meet Win at Stanford

Stanford, Calif. - In front of a sold-out Stanford record crowd of 6,000, No. 2 UCLA defeated No. 24 Stanford, 197.225-195.125. The Bruins have now scored 197 or higher in a school-record four-straight meets to start the season.
The Bruins jumped out to a 49.250-48.850 lead after one rotation. The Bruins hit six clean sets on uneven bars, with each gymnast scoring 9.775 or higher. Kyla Ross' 9.900 and Anna Glenn's 9.875 led the way for UCLA.
Freshman Sekai Wright's meet-winning score of 9.875 led UCLA to a 49.100 score on vault. Also scoring above 9.8 were Nia Dennis (9.800) and Felicia Hano (9.825). The Bruins increased their lead to 98.350-97.775 after the Cardinal scored 48.925 on bars.
Behind four 9.850+ scores on floor exercise, UCLA moved to nearly a full point ahead of Stanford with a team total of 49.350. Katelyn Ohashi performed flawlessly, anchoring the event with a 9.975. Margzetta Frazier scored 9.875, and Hano and Pauline Tratz each recorded 9.850.
The Bruins closed on balance beam with a huge team score of 49.525. Ohashi recorded her second 9.975 of the meet, Ross scored a season-high 9.925, and Norah Flatley earned a career-high 9.900. Dennis tied her season-high with a 9.875, and sophomore Kendal Poston earned a 9.850 in her beam debut.
UCLA (6-0) will next compete at Oregon State on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11:30am PT.
