May Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

Women's volleyball junior totaled 28 kills and 16 digs as UCLA opened Pac-12 play 2-0.

Junior outside hitter Mac May of the UCLA women's volleyball team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23-30.

May helped the Bruins to their first 2-0 start since 2011, as UCLA knocked off rival USC in five sets on Wednesday, while ending the weekend with a sweep of Arizona State on Sunday. May registered 28 kills (3.50 per set), 16 digs and six aces in the two victories. Against USC, she went for 13 kills, eight digs, two aces and two blocks. May had a match-high in kills against ASU, going for 15. She had only one hitting error in 31 attempts for a .452 hitting percentage, and she added eight digs and four aces.

This is May's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season and second of her career.
