UCLA Trio Ready for Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Media Day

LOS ANGELES – The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close and student-athletes Michaela Onyenwere and Japreece Dean will represent the Bruins at the 2019 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Media Day on Monday, Oct. 7 in San Francisco.
Media day will be highlighted by photo shoots, TV segments, live broadcasts and press conferences. Head coaches and student-athletes from all 12 universities will be in attendance at Pac-12 headquarters in downtown San Francisco.
Live coverage of media day will begin at 10 a.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks with remarks from Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. UCLA's live press conference will start at 1:30 p.m.

Close enters her ninth season at UCLA and is coming off her fourth-consecutive 20-plus win season. She directed the Bruins to their fourth-straight NCAA Sweet 16 and another top-four finish in the Pac-12. She was ultimately named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year by the media.
Onyenwere is UCLA's top returning scorer (18.3) and rebounder (8.5). She erupted for 30 points in UCLA's second-round win at then-ranked No. 9 Maryland. Onyenwere garnered All-Pac-12 recognition and ranked second in the Pac-12 in offensive rebounds (4.1), as well as fourth in free throw percentage (83.2).
Dean, who led the league in free throw percentage (92.2) and set the Bruins' single-season record in that category, is one of the top point guards in the league. She finished third on UCLA in scoring (14.1) a year ago and led the squad in assists (4.9).

- "Inside Pac-12 Basketball: Women's Media Day" on Monday, Oct. 7 will run from 12 p.m. PT / 1 p.m. MT through 3 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. MT.
- In addition to airing on Pac-12 Network, both shows will stream live to Pac-12 Networks subscribers via the Pac-12 Now app and Pac-12.com, as well as across all six Pac-12 Networks regional channels.
