
UCLA Signs Daishen Nix to National Letter of Intent

LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA men's basketball program has received a signed National Letter of Intent from high school senior Daishen Nix on the first day of the early signing period, as announced Wednesday by Mick Cronin, The Michael Price Family UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach.
Nix will enroll at UCLA in 2020 and begin his freshman season with the Bruins next fall. A 6-foot-5, 205-pound point guard who resides in Las Vegas, Nix currently attends Trinity International High School.
"Daishen is a tremendous young man and an elite basketball player," Cronin said. "We're extremely excited that he will be a Bruin. Daishen has special talents on the basketball court and, at times, has shown unique X-ray vision as a passer. He's a tough competitor who plays to win, striving to make everyone around him better. He is a bigtime player with great size for a guard, and he can score both inside and out. We are very grateful that Daishen, his mother Mina and Coach Lockridge saw UCLA as the best place for him."
Nix has been ranked as high as No. 14, nationally, in his high school class by both 247Sports.com and Rivals.com, He has been listed as the No. 21 player in the country by ESPN.com. In addition, Nix has been tabbed as the No. 1 point guard in his high school class by 247Sports.com.
As a junior last season, Nix averaged 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in the Grind Session Circuit, a league comprised of prep schools across the country and includes Trinity International. As a sophomore and junior, Nix helped lead Trinity International to back-to-back NCSAA Division I Championships. He secured Boys All-Tournament Team honors at the 2019 NCSAA Championships.
In addition, Nix was among 54 of the nation's top prep basketball players to attend the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team training camp from April 4-7, 2019, in Minneapolis, which included participating in the NCAA Next Generation Sunday at the NCAA Men's Final Four.
