UCLA Wins Fourth-Straight, 1-0 at Oregon
November 03, 2019 | Women's Soccer
No. 13 UCLA won its fourth-straight and seventh in its last eight games, taking a 1-0 victory at Oregon.
UCLA's goal came off a set piece in the 25th minute. After a short corner kick, Anika Rodriguez sent a cross to Ashley Sanchez, who served to defender Lucy Parker by the left post. Parker easily tapped it in for her second goal of the season.
The Bruins (13-4-1, 7-3-0 in the Pac-12) dominated possession throughout the game, outshooting Oregon 20-4. The UCLA defense limited the Ducks (5-8-5, 1-7-2) to just two shots on a goal, both in the second half, which were easily saved by UCLA goalkeeper Teagan Micah. The shutout was Micah's second straight and seventh overall this season.
Sanchez's assist was her team-leading 10th of the season and the 37th of her career. She is just one assist away from tying Iris Mora's school record of 38 career assists.
UCLA will wrap up the regular season on Friday, Nov. 8 with the crosstown showdown against USC. The match will take place at Wallis Annenberg Stadium at 6pm. Tickets are limited, and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at uclabruins.com/tickets.
