April 13, 2019 | Men's Tennis

LOS ANGELES โ€“ The No. 13 UCLA men's tennis team cruised to its 10th straight victory Saturday, beating Washington 4-0 in a Pac-12 match at Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Govind Nanda clinched the decision with a straight-set win on Court 3. Keegan Smith and Eric Hahn continued personal winning streaks to round out the day's singles wins. UCLA (14-4, 6-0) again seized the doubles point to get off on the right foot. The Bruins will head into the final week of the regular season in sole possession of first place in the Pac-12. Washington dropped to 6-15 (1-5).

Courts 2 and 3 carried the Bruins through doubles play, turning in dominating performances to capture the day's first point. Each pair jumped out to a 3-0 advantage and never looked back.

Bryce Pereira and Patrick Zahraj took the first five games from Ewen Lumsden and Kasper Smith and cruised to a 6-1 victory on the bottom court. The freshman-sophomore Bruin combination has won its last three decisions and holds an overall mark of 11-6.

With the ranked matchup on Court 1 a more tightly-contested affair, Court 2 Bruins Govind Nanda and Connor Rapp continued their recent success. A serve by the San Diego was returned into the net, extending the UCLA lead to 2-0. Each of Smith's wins during the streak have come in straight sets and he has now registered a team-high 18 singles wins.

Freshman Hahn completed a week to remember on Court 6, where he turned in his third win in five days.
