UCLA Track & Field Garners 17 All-Academic MPSF Scholar-Athletes

WOODLAND, Calif. – Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Executive Director, Al Beaird, announced the All-Academic MPSF Scholar-Athletes for the 2019 men's and women's indoor track & field season, and the UCLA track & field team notched 17 honorees.
 
The UCLA student-athletes included Kelly Bernd, Paige Carter, Christina Chenault, Jackie Garner, Elleyse Garrett, Jacquelyn Hill, Melissa Maneatis, Schuyler Moore, Christina Rice, Robert Brandt, Colin Burke, Matthew DeRoos, Riley Kelly, Chris Morzenti, Leon Powell, Millen Trujillo and Jacob Wilson.
 
The following student-athletes have been nominated for this award by their institutions based on the following criteria:
 
1. 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average.
2. Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically.
3. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received.
4. Student-athlete must have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.
 
The Bruins are back in action on Saturday, April 13 for the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, which is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. (PT) at Drake Stadium.
