AUSTIN โ Sean Lee registered the best NCAA high-jump finish in UCLA history since 1984, and the UCLA track & field program capped a successful day three of the NCAA Championships.

Lee's clearance of 2.21m (7-3) not only helped him to a sixth-place finish, but also moved him into a tie for fifth all-time in program history. The 6-foot-7 freshman mustered the best high-jump finish since 1984, when Lee Balkin finished tied for fifth at the 1984 NCAA Championships, as he cleared 2.24m (7-4.25).ย

Dotun Ogundeji put the finishing touches on his UCLA career in the men's discus throw, where he finished fourth with a throw of 60.54m (198-0). He becomes the first UCLA men's athlete to be a two-time First Team All-American since the format was enforced in 2013.
To cap the evening, Robert Brandt competed in the 5000m, where he remained in the top five of the event until the very end. He ultimately placed ninth, just missing the podium, with a time of 14:10.19.ย

Overall, the men accumulated 16 points, helping them tie for 18th. The 16 points for UCLA is the most since 2013, when the Bruins posted 18 to finish tied for 12th. Texas Tech came away with the title with 60 points.

Christina Chenault kicked off the heptathlon, where her best finish came in the shot put. She tossed 11.85m (38-10.5) to finish 11th out of 24 competitors in the event. She also recorded a 21st-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.41, a high jump mark of 1.60m (5-3) to finish 23rd and a 200m dash time of 25.14 to place 17th.

The Bruins will conclude the NCAA Championships tomorrow, starting with the long jump portion of the women's heptathlon at 1:30 p.m. (CT). Along with Chenault, Alyssa Wilson will also be in action for UCLA. She will compete in the discus at 5:05 p.m. (CT).
