UCLA Announces 2019 Men's Water Polo Schedule

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's water polo team announced its 2019 schedule today, highlighted by conference home games against California (Nov. 2) and USC (Nov. 9) and hosting the SoCal Invitational on Sept. 27-29. The home game against the Trojans is the only regular-season game slated to be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
The Bruins will compete in three different regular-season tournaments during the year, beginning with the season opener against Fordham on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 8:30 a.m. PT at the Navy Open in Annapolis, Md. UCLA will also face Princeton on Sept. 7 (12:15 p.m. PT) before closing out the tournament at the host, Navy, on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 6:15 a.m. PT and against La Salle at 10:00 a.m. PT.
The following weekend, UCLA will head to Stanford, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational. The Bruins will take part in an exhibition game against Pro Recco on Friday, Sept. 13, and will compete in the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 14-15 (schedule TBA).
UCLA will then travel for a game at Pepperdine at Noon PT on Saturday, Sept. 21, before hosting the SoCal Invitational Sept. 27-29 (schedule TBA).
The SoCal Invitational begins a stretch of nine consecutive home dates, which continues on Friday, Oct. 4, when the Bruins host Long Beach State under the lights of Spieker Aquatics Center at 7:00 p.m. PT. The following day is the Alumni Match, slated for Oct. 5 at a time to be determined.
The Bruins will welcome in three more teams the following weekend, beginning with UC Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday, Oct. 11. On Saturday, Oct. 12, UCLA will host Cal Baptist at Noon followed by Whittier at 2:00 p.m. PT.
The following weekend, UCLA will end the nine-game home stand with Pacific on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. PT. The Bruins will close out their non-conference slate at UC Irvine on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m. PT
The Bruins will open MPSF play when they host California on Saturday, Nov. 2 (time TBD). The Bruins will then host USC on "Senior Day" in the only nationally-televised game of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 (time TBD). UCLA will conclude the regular season at Stanford (time TBD) on Saturday, Nov. 16.
California will host the six-team MPSF Championship on Nov. 22-24 while Pacific will host the NCAA Championship on Dec. 7-8.
