TOP-RANKED BRUINS HOST UCLA/LONG BEACH STATE INVITATIONAL
The defending National Champion and top-ranked UCLA Bruins host the UCLA/Long Beach State Invitational this week. Play starts on Tuesday against St. John's (7 p.m.). The Bruins will face No. 16 Michigan on Thursday (7 p.m.), No. 22 UCF on Friday (5:30 p.m.), Boston U. (4:30 p.m.) and No. 18 Minnesota (7 p.m.) on Saturday and Cal Poly (12:30 p.m.) on Sunday. A free video stream will be available for Thursday's UCLA-Michigan game, free audio will be available for all Bruin games and live stats will be available for all contests at UCLABruins.com.
FREE PARKING SHUTTLE
The UCLA softball shuttle will return this weekend (March 6-8) for the UCLA/LBSU Invitational at Easton Stadium. The shuttle will begin one hour prior to the first game of the day (March 6 – 9 a.m.; March 7 – 8 a.m.; March 8 – 9 a.m.) and continue to operate until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the last game.
Fans can pick up the free shuttle in Lot 7, located in the center of campus. The shuttle will take fans directly to the parking lot (Lot 11) just outside Easton Stadium. Fans will be required to pay for a parking pass to park in Lot 7, with a kiosk available right near the shuttle stop, pick-up location, which is located to the left as you drive down into the parking structure.
The shuttle will not make any stops at any other lots other than Lot 7.
The shuttle will also be available for all Pac-12 series, starting next weekend against Arizona State.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Fans are advised to arrive early to Sunday's games, as it is the same day as the L.A. Marathon. Visit lamarathon.com for road closures and alternate routes. The Wilshire Blvd. exit off the 405 Freeway will be closed until 2:30 pm, so fans headed to campus via freeway are encouraged to take the Sunset Blvd. exit.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Pac-12 Conference action starts next weekend at Easton Stadium, as the Bruins take on No. 15 Arizona State. The series starts on Friday, March 13 (7 p.m.), continues on Saturday, March 14 (12 p.m.) and concludes on Sunday, March 15 (12 p.m.). The first matchup will feature a free video stream, while the last two contests will be broadcast on Pac-12 Network.

NEWS AND NOTES
**UCLA has scored in its first at-bat in 15 of 20 games. The 45 runs scored in the first inning are the most for the Bruins in any inning this season.
**Redshirt junior Aaliyah Jordan has hits in 18 of 20 games. She posted a career-best, 15-game hitting streak from Feb. 7-27, batting .561 (23-for-41) with two homers, 20 RBI, 10 walks and 10 doubles. Jordan has seven multiple-RBI games and seven multi-hit contests. Despite her hitting streak getting snapped last weekend, the redshirt junior has still reached base in all 20 games. The queen of doubles has 46 for her career, which puts her in a tie for eighth in UCLA history. Jordan's .417 career average is fourth in school history, while her .725 slugging and .495 on base percentage are both third.
**Sophomore Megan Faraimo, who had three double-figure strikeout contests last season, already has seven in 12 games this year, recording at least six strikeouts in every appearance. She struck out a career-best 16 versus Wisconsin on Feb. 22, and has also recorded 15 Ks against Weber State (Feb. 29), 14 versus Pittsburgh (Feb. 8) and 13 against No. 5 Florida State (Feb. 16). Faraimo, tied for the national lead in wins with 11 and first with a 31.25 strikeout-to-walk ratio, has walked only four on the year.
**Freshman Maya Brady leads the Bruins with seven home runs, but her biggest collegiate dinger so far didn't count, as she hit a two-run homer off Olympian Ally Carda in UCLA's exhibition contest versus Team USA on Feb. 23. Brady has already hit for the home run cycle, having belted two solo homers, two two-run shots, two three-run bombs and a grand slam against USF on Feb. 16. She has hits in 15 of 20 games and RBI in 13 of 20.
**Junior Briana Perez leads the Bruins with nine multiple-RBI games and is tied for first with eight multi-hit contests. She ended the San Diego Classic with seven hits and eight RBI in the final three games of the weekend. Perez has hits in 16 of 20 games and has scored multiple runs in eight contests. Perez's .391 career average puts her in sixth in UCLA history.
**Junior Delanie Wisz had quite the Bruin debut on Feb. 6 against CSU Bakersfield. The LMU transfer belted a pair of home runs, a two-run shot and a solo bomb, adding a double for a three-hit game. She hit a two-run homer against Texas A&M on Feb. 21 and posted two hits versus No. 7 Florida on Feb. 22. Wisz has hits in five in a row.
**Graduate student Jenavee Peres has hits in seven of her nine games, leaving the yard in four of them. She hit a solo homer in her Bruin debut against No. 9 Alabama on Feb. 14, hit a three-run shot versus No. 15 Georgia on Feb. 15, went 3-for-3 with a two-run bomb against Texas A&M on Feb. 21 and hit a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth versus Wisconsin on Feb. 22.
**Freshman Seneca Curo ended the weekend in Cathedral City on a high note, recording six hits in her last nine at-bats, including a perfect 3-for-3 versus No. 7 Florida. It was a hit against another Sunshine State team on Feb. 16 that jump-started a Bruin comeback, as she led off the top of the seventh with a double versus Florida State, scoring the tying run in the win.
**Sophomore Kelli Godin is tied for third with seven multiple-hit games and is tops on the team with 11 stolen bases. Four of her seven walks on the season came in back-to-back games last weekend against Mount St. Mary's on Friday and Weber State on Saturday. Godin has scored a run in 13 of 20 contests, including two runs on three occasions.
**Junior Holly Azevedo is a perfect 6-0 on the season. Azevedo, who didn't allow a run in her first 14 1/3 innings, has not thrown over 81 pitches in any game this season. She has a remarkable 32-1 record in her career.
**Junior Kinsley Washington has reached base in 17 games in a row and is tied for the team lead with eight multiple-hit contests. She has scored multiple runs in a game eight times. Washington hit her second career homer against Liberty on Feb. 15.
**Freshman Alyssa Garcia drove in three runs on Saturday against Weber State, recording a two-run double and an RBI triple. She is fourth on the team with a .378 batting average.
**Freshman and San Diego native Lexi Sosa did not allow a run in seven innings last weekend, striking out seven and giving up only three hits. She earned the win over Mount St. Mary's, picking up her first collegiate win on Feb. 6 versus CSU Bakersfield.
**Junior Julie Rodriguez made her official collegiate pitching debut at San Diego on Sunday, tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Her first pitching stint came in the seventh inning on Feb. 23 in an exhibition against Team USA, retiring Valerie Arioto on a foul out in her only at-bat in the top of the seventh. For good measure, Rodriguez recorded a single off Monica Abbott in the bottom of the inning.
**Senior Jacqui Prober had a career-best three RBI on two hits against Auburn on Feb. 23 ... freshman Sara Rusconi Vicinanza hit her second homer of the season, a three-run shot, against Mount St. Mary's. Rusconi Vicinanza and sophomore Anna Vines each hit their first career homers on Feb. 9 against Pittsburgh ... junior Alana Snow is 1-for-1 in her hitting career after recording an RBI single versus Mount St. Mary's.
**The Bruins were the first team to take a lead against Team USA in the Stand Beside Her Tour, going up 3-1 after the first inning.
**The Bruins scored 13 runs in the first inning against Pitt on Feb. 9. It tied for the second-most runs in one inning in UCLA history (13 vs. Cal Poly Pomona in 1992). The record for runs in one inning came last year when UCLA scored 16 versus UC Riverside.

The Bruins have won both of their matchups against St. John's, winning neutral-site games in 2003 (8-0 in five innings) and 2005 (3-0) ... UCLA is 11-11-1 against Michigan.
