Bruins Defeat Alumni, 4-3

LOS ANGELES – The 2020 UCLA baseball team defeated the alumni 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium in the team's annual alumni game.
The alumni, who fell behind early on an RBI single from redshirt junior outfielder Jordan Prendiz, got all its offense on one swing of the bat, as Ryan Kreidler hit a towering three-run home run over the left field fence in the top of the third to make it 3-1 in favor of the alumni.
The 2020 Bruins responded in the bottom of the fourth with a game-sealing three-spot. Prendiz and freshman center fielder Michael Curialle had the big hits of that rally, with Prendiz bringing in one run on an opposite field single to the left side before Curialle drove in a pair with a two-bagger into the right-center field gap.
UCLA held the alumni off the board the rest of the way. Relievers Sean Mullen and Charles Harrison combined to allow just two hits over five shutout innings of relief. Mullen was especially impressive, surrendering just one knock and striking out four over four frames of work.
Sophomore righty Nick Nastrini drew the start for the Bruins, giving up two hits and three runs in four innings of action. The San Diego, Calif. native struck out four and walked a pair.
The alumni received strong performances on the mound from Jack Ralston, Jake Ehret, Moises Ceja, Beau Amaral, and David Berg, who each turned in a scoreless inning. The latter two faced the minimum.
UCLA officially opens the 2020 season at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Feb. 14 by hosting UC Riverside. Single-game and season tickets for the upcoming campaign are now available, and can be purchased by calling 310-UCLA-WIN or clicking HERE.
