- Trevor Bauer, RHP, Cincinnati Reds โ Bauer is a finalist for the 2020 NL Cy Young Award, with the winner set to be announced on Nov. 11. The ace right-hander is seeking to become the first Bruin to win a Cy Young and the third player ever to win both a Cy Young and a Golden Spikes Award (David Price, Tim Lincecum). For the 2020 season, Bauer led the National League with a 1.73 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and 5.06 hits per nine innings. ย
- Griffin Canning, RHP, Los Angeles Angels โ Canning was named the American League Gold Glove Winner at pitcher last Tuesday, becoming the third Bruin ever to take home the honor (Brandon Crawford, Chris Chambliss). In his first full pro season, Canning committed just one error in the field while finishing second among AL pitchers with seven assists and third with eight putouts. He co-led the league in defensive runs saved above average by a pitcher with 3.
- Japreece Dean,ย G, Dynamo Novosibirsk (Russia) -- Japreece Dean ('20) is playing in her first professional season overseas following her senior season with the Bruins.
- Kennedy Burke, G, Dinamo Sassari (Italy) -- After a strong second-year campaign with the Indiana Fever in the "Wubble", Kennedy Burke ('19) has recently kicked off her second stint overseas. She currently plays for Dinamo Sassari in Italy.ย
- Monique Billings, F, Nadezhda Orenburg (Russia) -- Monique Billings ('18) had a breakout season in her third year with the Atlanta Dream this past season in the WNBA and now plays for Nadezhda Orenburg in Russia.ย
- Nirra Fields, G (Turkey) -- Nirra Fields ('16) continues her professional career playing overseas in Turkey.ย
- Atonya Nyingifa, F, Estudiantes (Madrid) -- Atonye Nyingifa ('14) continues her longstanding professional basketball career with Estudiantes in Spain. Nyingifa wrapped up her UCLA career in 2014 and scored 1,570 points as a Bruin.ย
- Rebekah Gardner, G, Sfantu Ghorghe (Romania) -- Rebekah Gardner ('12) continues her prolific professional career overseas with a stint with Sfantu Ghorghe in Romania. Gardner is a member of UCLA's 1,000-point club with 1,101-career points as a Bruin.
- Krys Barnes, ILB, Green Bay Packers โ The undrafted rookie turned starter exited after the first half Thursday night due to injury, but still contributed three total tackles to the Green Bay win. He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
- Jayon Brown, ILB, Tennessee Titans โ Brown nearly did it all on defense for Tennessee, which improved to 6-2. In addition to piling up a team-high 10 tackles, he turned in a sack of Chicago quarterback Nick Foles for a loss of six yards, one pass defended and a fourth-quarter forced fumble recovered by the Titans.
- Ka'imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans โ Fairbairn converted field-goal attempts from 54 and 30 yards, as well as three extra points, without a miss. His career-long professional field goal came from 55 yards in 2017. He made a school-record 60-yarder as a Bruin in 2015. Fairbairn was also responsible for two touchbacks in Houston's 27-25 win versus division rival Jacksonville Sunday.
- Darnay Holmes, CB, New York Giants โ One week removed from setting a career high with four total tackles, the rookie eclipsed that number with five in the Giants' narrow win over NFC East foe Washington.
- Myles Jack, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars โ Jack posted his fourth double-digit tackle performance in six games, totaling a team-high 11. One of his stops went for a loss of two yards. For good measure, Jack added one pass defensed and a forced fumble recovered by Jacksonville.
- Joshua Kelley, RB, Los Angeles Chargers โ The rookie registered nine carries for 28 yards and continued to play a large part in the Chargers' passing game, catching all five of his targets for 31 yards. On his team's final drive, Kelley touched the ball five times, including a nine-yard run.
- Eric Kendricks, MLB, Minnesota Vikings โ Kendricks' six tackles represented his lowest single-game mark of the season, but his fourth-quarter interception clinched Minnesota's second win in as many games. He still ranks fourth in the league with 84 total tackles.
- Marcedes Lewis, TE, Green Bay Packers โ Aaron Rodgers found Lewis all alone from one yard out for the 15-year veteran's second touchdown of the season Thursday night as the Green Bay lead increased to 14-3 en route to its sixth win in eight tries.
- Matthew Slater, WR, New England Patriots โ Slater logged one special teams tackle in the fourth quarter of New England's comeback win over the New York Jets in a divisional clash Monday night.
- Jacob Tuioti-Mariner, DT, Atlanta Falcons โ Tuioti-Mariner racked up a career-high five total tackles, including three on special teams. He also made his presence felt on defense, tallying two QB hits in Atlanta's second consecutive win and third in four games.
- DT Eli Ankou (Dallas Cowboys), NT Kenny Clark (Green Bay Packers), OT Andre James (Las Vegas Raiders), CB Fabian Moreau (Washington Football Team) and C Scott Quessenberry (Los Angeles Chargers) also played, but did not record any statistics.
- PGA TOURย โ Kevin Chappell tied for 61st at the Vivint Houston Open last week (Thursday-Sunday). The TOUR heads to Augusta, Ga. this week for The Masters (Thursday-Sunday), the final major of the 2020 calendar year. Patrick Cantlay is in the field.
- PGA Tour Champions โ Corey Pavin was the top Bruin at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship last week (Friday-Sunday) in Phoenix, tying for 10th at 8-under. Brandt Jobe tied for 16th (-6). The TOUR is off until Dec. 17.
- Symetra Tour โย Lee Lopez tied for seventh (even) at the season-ending Symetra Tour Championship in Davidson, N.C. last week (Thursday-Sunday).
- Ladies European Tour โ Bronte Law tied for eighth (-7) at the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic in Dubai, United Arab Emirates last week (Wednesday-Friday). Alison Lee tied for 10th (-6) and current sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri, playing as an amateur, was 16th (-4).
- Frankie Amaya, MF, FC Cincinnati โ Started and played 55 minutes in FC Cincinnati's season finale against Inter Miami on Sunday. Amaya made 21 starts and scored his first professional goal this year, his sophomore season in the MLS.
- Jonathan Bornstein, D, Chicago Fire โ Started both of Chicago's games last week as the club wrapped its season up. Bornstein made 20 appearances, including 13 starts, with one goal and one assist in 2020.
- Reggie Cannon, D, Boavista FC (Portugal) โย Started at right back and played the full 90 in Boavista's Primeria Liga contest against Farense on Sunday. Cannon has started all seven games for Boavista since transferring from FC Dallas in September. He scored his first goal with Boavista in his club debut on Sept. 12 (exhibition vs. CD Tondela).ย
- Abu Danladi, F, Nashville SC โ Was an unused sub in Nashville's final two regular season contests. His club qualified for the MLS Cup, which begins Nov. 20. Nashville will open up with a play-in contest against Inter Miami.
- Jordan Harvey, D, LAFC โ Appeared in both of LAFC's games last week, playing the entire second half on Nov. 4 against San Jose and playing the full 90 against Portland on Nov. 8. He registered an assist against the Earthquakes, his first helper of the year. LAFC, the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, opens MLS Cup play against No. 2 Seattle on Nov. 24.
- Ryan Hollingshead, D, FC Dallas โ Started and played the full 90 in both of FC Dallas's games last week, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 triumph over Nashville on Nov. 4. Hollingshead ended his 2020 regular season with four goals and an assist. No. 6 Dallas opens up the MLS Cup against No. 3 Portland on Nov. 22.
- Brian Rowe, GK, Orlando City SC โ Started and played the full 90 in Orlando's regular season finale against Nashville, making three saves and allowing three goals. Rowe made four starts for Orlando this year, making 16 saves and recording one shutout. Orlando City, the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, takes on No. 5 NYCFC in the first round of the MLS Cup on Nov. 21.
- Kelyn Rowe, MF, New England Revolution โ Subbed on and played 33 minutes in New England's regular season finale against Philadelphia on Sunday. New England faces Montreal in an MLS Cup Eastern Conference play-in match on Nov. 20.
- Jackson Yueill, MF, San Jose Earthquakes โ Started and played 61 minutes against LAFC on Nov. 4. Yueill started 21 games this year for San Jose, scoring one goal and one assist. San Jose faces top-seeded Sporting KC in the first round of the MLS Cup on Nov. 22. ย ย
- Jessie Fleming, MF, Chelsea FC (England) โ Fleming played 32 minutes in Chelsea's 2-0 Continental League Cup win over Tottenham Hotspurs on Nov. 3 and logged 11 minutes in the squad's 4-0 league win over Everton on Nov. 8.
- Samย Mewis, MF, Manchester City (England) โ Mewis started in a defensive midfield role in Manchester City's 3-0 win over Liverpool in Continental League Cup action on Nov. 4 and played 57 minutes in ManCity's 8-1 rout over Bristol City on Nov. 7.
- Lauren Barnes, D, &ย Hailie Mace, F, Kristianstads DFF (Sweden) โ Mace recorded two assists in 72 minutes of action, and Lauren Barnes played all 90 minutes in Kristianstads' 4-1 victory over IK Uppsala on Nov. 7. Kristianstads is currently on a six-match winning streak and is 8-1 since the Bruin duo arrived in September.
- Siri Ervik, GK, Kolbotn (Norway) โ Ervik started in goal in a 1-1 draw with Lillestrøm SK Kvinner on Nov. 7.
- Anika Rodriguez, MF, PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) โ Rodriguez did not play in PSV's 1-0 win over Ado Den Haag on Nov. 8.
- Linnea Mack & Ting Wen Quah,ย DC Tridentย โ The Bruin duo wrapped up their 2020 ISL seasons over the weekend. Both had multiple top-five finishes.ย Quah placed fourth in the 50 free, 50 fly, the 4X100 medley relay, and 4X100 freestyle relay. Mack, meanwhile, was the fourth-place finisher in the 50 back and 100 back. DC Trident is coached byย Cyndi Gallagher, UCLA's longtime head swim coach who retired following the 2018-19 season.
- Maxime Cressyย โ Eighth-seeded Cressy knocked off Luca Nardi of Italy, 6-3, 7-6(4), in the singles second round at the Parma (Italy) stop on the ATP Challenger Tour. He was edged in the quarterfinal round by eventual finalist Liam Broady of Great Britain in a three-set match that included two tiebreakers.
- Marcos Gironย โ Giron saw his ATP ranking skyrocket Monday to a career-best No. 72, fueled in large part by his thrilling win over 10th-ranked Matteo Berrettini of Italy, 7-6(3), 6-7(0), 7-5, in singles second-round action at the Rolex Paris Masters. His run was ended one round later by 17th-ranked Milos Raonic of Canada. Giron defeated the world's 102nd-, 54th-, 46th- and 10th-ranked players in Paris.
- Dennis Novikovย โ Novikov was felled by Alexsandr Nedovyesov of Kazakhstan in singles qualifying at the Atlantic Tire Championships in Cary, N.C.
