UCLA Rowing to Open Spring Ranked No. 20

February 27, 2020 | Women's Rowing

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing program will open the season as the nation's No. 20-ranked program this spring. The Bruins' spring schedule begins on Saturday, March 7, as UCLA takes on San Diego State at the Marina Aquatic Center (Marina del Rey, Calif.).

UCLA's season-opening Centennial Regatta against San Diego State will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. (PT).

Following the team's Centennial Regatta, UCLA will host a post-meet social (cost is $50 per person) at the UCLA boathouse. The post-meet social will include a breakfast buffet and beverages. Recent alumni (from the last five years) can purchase a ticket to the post-meet social for $25. To RSVP for the post-meet social, please contact Nathan Anderson (email: nanderson@athletics.ucla.edu).

The preseason top 20 poll, as released this week by the CRCA (Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association), includes five Pac-12 programs – Washington (1), Stanford (2), California (6), USC (18) and UCLA (20). Pac-12 competitors Oregon State and Washington State received votes in the preseason Division I poll.

UCLA will host consecutive Saturday regattas against San Diego State (March 7) and Loyola Marymount (March 14) before competing at the two-day Virginia Invitational (March 27-28) in Earlysville, Va.
