Eric Iloski Selected in MLS SuperDraft by Vancouver

January 22, 2021 | Men's Soccer

UCLA senior midfielder Eric Iloski was selected in the second round, No. 46 overall, of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Thursday.

Iloski represents UCLA's 80th MLS draft pick all-time, and the first since Frankie Amaya was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2019 iteration of the draft. He becomes the first Bruin ever to be drafted by the Vancouver Whitecaps franchise.

The Escondido, Calif. native intends to remain with UCLA for the duration of the 2020-21 campaign before beginning his professional career with the Whitecaps.

A veteran of 52 games at the collegiate level, Iloski has scored 3 goals and 8 points for 14 points over his UCLA career. Iloski is coming off his most productive season in Westwood statistically, as he notched 2 goals and 4 assists for 8 points in 2019.

During his time at UCLA, Iloski has played a wide variety of positions and roles, including midfielder, outside back, and winger.

Iloski's tenure in Westwood overlapped with both of his brothers, Brian (played at UCLA from 2013-17) and Milan (2017-19). In a signature moment of his collegiate career, Eric scored a golden goal against San Diego State on Oct. 15, 2017 with both his brothers recording assists.
