Barr-Mira Named Pac-12 Player of the Week

Kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira was named Special Teams Player of the Week in the Monday announcement of the Pac-12 Football Weekly Performance Awards presented by Nextiva.

Barr-Mira connected on both of his field goal attempts and all four of his extra points in UCLA's 34-16 win at Arizona. The redshirt sophomore from Palos Verdes, Calif., hit from 23 and 43-yards out to give him eight field goals in 10 attempts this season. His 23-yard kick put UCLA up 17-13 in the third quarter and his 43-yard effort put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter.

Barr-Mira has now converted on 14 of 17 career field goal attempts. His eight field goals made in 2021 tie him for second in the Pac-12 rankings. He is also second in the conference in kick scoring with an average of 8.17 points per game. That mark ranks him sixth on the Pac-12 overall scoring list.

This is the second Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week honor for a Bruin player this season. Kyle Philips won the honor earlier this season for his kick returns in week four. Barr-Mira is the first UCLA kicker to earn weekly conference honors since Ka'imi Fairbairn in October of 2015.
