UCLA Women’s Basketball Picked to Finish Third in Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll

San Francisco, Calif. – The UCLA Women's Basketball team was picked to finish third in the Pac-12 according to a preseason poll from the league's head coaches, the Conference office announced Tuesday morning.
UCLA earned 101 points in the coaches poll for third place in the rankings. Stanford (121) was selected to win the league and Oregon (108) was slated to finish second.
The Bruins checked in third in the preseason ranks after a 2020-21 season that saw the team finish 17-6 overall and 12-4 in Pac-12 play. The team earned the No. 3 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament and advanced to the league championship game against Stanford. UCLA went on to advance to its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament before falling in the second round to Texas. Junior guard Charisma Osborne and 2021 alumna Michaela Onyenwere earned All-Pac-12 honors, while graduate forward Natalie Chou picked up All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention acclaim. Onyenwere went on to be selected sixth overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft and recently earned Rookie of the Year honors.
The Pac-12 released the results of the coaches poll ahead of its annual Women's Basketball Media Day festivities, which occur later today. The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close and student-athletes Osborne and Gina Conti are set to represent the Bruins at Pac-12 Media Day at the league's headquarters in San Francisco from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. PT. Coverage of the event is set to air on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app.
