Seven UCLA Teams Post 100% GSR

Bruin Athletics

Fourteen of 20 UCLA programs had a GSR or 90 percent or higher.

Seven UCLA squads – men's tennis, women's basketball, women's golf, gymnastics, rowing, swimming & diving and women's tennis – recorded a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 100 percent. The 2021 GSR cohort is based on scholarship student-athletes who entered college as freshmen or transfers in the 2011-12 through 2014-15 classes.

These seven teams have sustained 100 percent graduation rates for multiple years. This is the ninth consecutive year for women's basketball, eighth for women's tennis, seventh for women's golf, fourth for gymnastics and men's tennis, third for rowing and second for swimming & diving.

Fourteen of UCLA's 20 programs had a GSR of 90 percent or higher, up three from last season. UCLA has 25 teams, but for this report, cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field are counted as one sport, and beach volleyball is not yet eligible to be included. UCLA Athletics' overall GSR is 89%.

The GSR is the NCAA's more comprehensive calculation of student-athlete academic success. The NCAA rate is more accurate than the federally-mandated methodology because it is more inclusive of the total student-athlete population. The GSR includes incoming transfers and students enrolling in the winter or spring quarters who receive athletics aid. Student-athletes who leave an institution academically and athletically eligible to compete are removed from their respective cohorts.
