Videler Sets No. 2 Pentathlon Mark in School History

Manhattan, Kan. โ Senior multi athlete Isa Videler notched a career-best mark of 4,067 points in the pentathlon in her season-opener at the Kansas State Multi Event on Friday morning. It's the second-best pentathlon mark in school history โ just behind the 4,084 points set by Kendall Gustafson in 2018 โ and the nation's leading performance in the event.
"Isa has put in a lot of work and it showed out here today," said UCLA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Avery Anderson. "To start off the season with a big personal best is awesome. I'm very happy with where she is this early in the season."
Friday's performance improved Videler's position in the all-time UCLA record books from fifth to second, asย she eclipsed her previous best of 3,899 points, set at the MPSF Championships in February 2020.

Videler opened her day with a strong third-place showing in the 60m hurdles, crossing with a time of 8.91 to earn 929 points. She went on to earn the event victory in the high jump, clearing a a lifetime-best mark of 1.72m (5-07.75) to secure 879 points. She later took fifth place in the shot put, taking 600 points after a toss of 11.07m (36-04.00).

Videler would finish her event sequence with a pair of victories. She took the win in the long jump with a mark of 5.55m (18-02.50), good for 715 points. Videler then dominated the 800m to finish the day, going 2:11.44 to win the event by over 11 seconds. She snagged 944 points in the 800m to bring her final total to 4,067 points.

Videler was the only Bruin to compete in the season-opening multi competition, as the main portion of the season begins at the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash., on Jan. 14-15.
