
Rodriguez Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of Week

UCLA senior Karina Rodriguez has been named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Rodriguez, a native of Torrance, Calif., played the full 90 minutes in each of UCLA's shutout wins on the road, a 1-0 win at Colorado and a 2-0 victory at Utah. The Bruins' defensive leader in both games, she helped limit the Buffaloes to just two shots on goal and the Utes to three. UCLA's 8-0 start is its best in 20 years when the 2001 team won its first 11 games
This is the first Pac-12 weekly award for Rodriguez this season and third of her career. She is the third different UCLA player to win the Defensive Player of the Week award this year.
