Zoe Fleck Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO - Junior Zoe Fleck has been named Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. Fleck had 43 digs in two matches, helping the Bruins to a weekend sweep of Arizona.
Last Friday, Fleck produced a season-best 25 digs in a four-set victory over the Wildcats. She had eight digs in the first set, four in the second, six in the third and seven in the fourth. The junior posted 18 digs in a three-set win last Sunday, adding one ace. She had progressively more digs in each set, going from four in the opener to six and then eight in the final stanza.
Fleck has recorded double figures in digs in all 12 matches this season, surpassing the 20-dig mark on three occasions. She leads the Bruins with 4.27 digs per set and is third with nine service aces. Fleck ranks second among Pac-12 liberos in dps.
The Pac-12 Defensive POW was first awarded starting in 2011, and Fleck is the first Bruin to win the honor since Nov. 6, 2017 (Madeleine Gates). She is the 12th Bruin to be named DPOW over the last decade.
