LOS ANGELES – In an ongoing effort to continuously add to the fan experience, beer and wine will now be offered for sale at men's and women's basketball games inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.
Beer and wine will be available for public sale at select locations throughout the Pauley Pavilion concourse. Fans aged 21 and older with valid identification can purchase up to two alcoholic beverages per transaction until the end of the third quarter of a women's basketball game or the ten-minute mark of the second half at a men's basketball game. Options include a variety of imported and domestic beers, as well as red and white wine.
"We heard the fans loud and clear that many wanted beer and wine options for their game experience," the Alice and Nahum Lainer Family Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond said. "We're excited to offer a wide selection of beer and wine while also promoting responsible drinking."
UCLA and UCLA Athletics are committed to promoting responsible drinking during UCLA basketball games at Pauley Pavilion, and fans are expected to abide by the UCLA Athletics' Fan Code of Conduct. In addition, staff, UCPD and security personnel are trained on responsible alcohol service and there will be increased vigilance of overconsumption of alcohol, binge drinking and underage drinking. Alcohol may not be brought into Pauley Pavilion. According to data from various college and professional teams, expanding in-arena alcohol sales to the public and instituting accompanying guardrails increases the probability of responsible drinking.
Since Pauley Pavilion's renovation 10 years ago, alcohol has been available only to Wooden Athletic Fund members in the Pavilion Club. Since last season, beer and wine have been available for sale throughout the Rose Bowl Stadium during home UCLA football games.
Men's and women's basketball each open the regular season at Pauley Pavilion on Nov. 7; the men against Sacramento State and the women against Cal Poly. Fans can purchase 2022 basketball tickets here.
