UCLA, Eight Individuals Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced that UCLA has earned Team Scholar All-America honors for the 2021-22 academic year. As a squad, the Bruins posted a collective 3.55 GPA.
In addition, eight UCLA student-athletes earned individual Scholar All-America acclaim. Hannah Butler and Paige MacEachern were both named to the first team, while Sam Baron, Zoe Jespersgaard, Ana Jih-Schiff, Ella Kirschke, Maya Salvitti, and Delaney Smith all picked up second team honors.ย
Student-Athletes with a 3.50 GPA or higher who swam an NCAA "B" Cut, earned an invite to Diving Zone Championships, or competed at the NCAA Championships are eligible for Scholar All-America honors. First Team recipients logged a 3.50 GPA or higher and competed at NCAAs.ย
"Coach Wolfrum is really one of the top up-and-comers on the pool deck," said CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "This success is just one more thing the Bruins can build on."
The CSCAA award is the latest in a string of academic accolades for the UCLA swim & dive program. Previously this season UCLA earned Team Scholar All-America acclaim for fall quarter, placed 23 student-athletes on the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll, saw junior Gabby Dang be named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, and had dozens recognized on the quarterly UCLA Director's Honor Rolls.
