UCLA Announces 2022 Men's Water Polo Schedule

LOS ANGELES โ Theย defending MPSF Conference champion UCLAย Men'sย Water Polo team announced its 2022ย schedule today, highlighted byย conference home games against California (Oct. 29)ย and USC (Nov. 11), with both of those contestsย to be televised on the Pac-12 Network. The Pac-12 Network will also televise UCLA's road conference game at Stanford (Oct. 15) and its home non-conference game against UC Santa Barbara (Oct. 20).
The Bruins will compete in three different regular-seasonย tournaments during the year, beginning with the season opener against a team to be determined on Saturday, Sept. 3ย at the Triton Invitational on the campus of UC San Diego. UCLA will also compete at the Aggie Roundup at UC Davis where it will face San Jose State on Sept. 16 (1:15ย p.m. PT) and California Baptist University (4:45 p.m. PT)ย before closing out the tournament on Sunday, Sept. 17ย with Princeton (10:30 a.m.) and Harvardย (2:15ย p.m.). The final regular-season tournament that UCLA will take part in during the 2022 season is the MPSF Invitational at Stanford the following weekend (Sept. 23-25). All games and times for the MPSF Invite will be announced at a later date.
UCLA will face a pair of GCC teams that will be sandwiched in between the Triton Invite and the Aggie Roundup. The Bruins will host Long Beach State in their home opener and the first of two games under the lights of Spieker Aquatics Center at 7:00 p.m. PT on Sept. 9. UCLA will then head to UC Irvine to take on the Anteaters on Saturday, Sept. 10 (time TBD).
After the back-to-back tournaments, UCLA will return home to host Pacific on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. The Bruins will then hit the road again to face Pepperdine on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1:00 p.m.
The Bruins will welcome in UC San Diego on Saturday, Oct. 8 atย 1:00 p.m. PT before opening league play at Stanford at 1:00 p.m. the following Saturday.
The following weekend, UCLA will host UC Santa Barbara at 4:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, Oct. 20 and close out the week with UC Davis at 1:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, Oct. 22. The Bruins will continue their home stand with California on Oct. 29 (time TBD) and will host theย annual Alumni Match later that day (time TBD).
UCLA will travel to face Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Nov. 5 (12:00 p.m. PT) to conclude its non-conference slate in the final road game of the regular season.
The Bruins will conclude MPSFย play, closing out the regular season when they hostย USC on Saturday, Nov. 11ย (time TBD).
USC will host the six-team 2022 MPSF Championshipย on Nov. 18-20 while California will host the 2022 NCAA Championshipย on Dec. 1-4.
