Landherr IV Named to Mannelly Award Watch List

UCLA's Jack Landherr IV was selected to the watch list for The Patrick Mannelly Award (https://patrickmannellyaward.com), named after former long snapper Patrick Mannelly who played 16 years in the NFL after a collegiate career at Duke. The award is presented annually to the player judged to be the best college football FBS long snapper.
Landherr IV has successfully executed snaps for all of UCLA's place kicks and punts for the last 28 straight games over the 2019-2021 seasons. He has also been an impactful performer down the field on punt return coverage. In addition, the senior has excelled off the field earning a spot on the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll in both 2021 and 2022. He has also been recognized on the UCLA Athletic Director's Honor Roll from 2019-2022. In 2021-22, Landherr IV was selected to the to the first-team CoSIDA 2021-22 Academic All-District Football Team.
The Patrick Mannelly Award, created in 2019, benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Long Snappers are the ultimate unsung heroes of football. No successful field goal, extra point or punt can happen without a good snap to get it started. Bernie's Book Bank has a similar role – no child can learn to read without books. BBB serves behind the scenes yet is an integral player in the literacy equation.
Ten semi-finalists for the Mannelly Award will be announced on November 14, 2022. Those names will be narrowed to three finalists announced on November 28, 2022 and the winner is to be selected at the live Award ceremony in Lake Bluff on December 10, 2022.
The Bruins open 2022 with three straight non-conference home contests. The campaign begins on Sept. 3 against Bowling Green at Rose Bowl Stadium in a 11:30 a.m. PT kickoff that airs on Pac-12 Network. A Sept. 10 visit by Alabama State follows, with the Pac-12 Network-televised matchup slated for a 2 p.m. start. Pac-12 Network provides coverage of the Sept. 17 battle with South Alabama, beginning at 11 a.m. The Bruin's home slate also includes Pac-12 Conference home contests against Washington (Sept. 30), Utah (Oct. 8), Stanford (Oct. 29) Arizona (Nov. 12) and USC (Nov. 19).
