UCLA sophomore Jordan Chiles was selected the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season after scoring a career-high 39.875 in the all-around and tying for the nation's top all-around score of the season.
Chiles' winning all-around mark in the Bruins' win over Stanford ranks as the third-highest all-around score in school history and the highest all-around score by a Bruin in 19 years, matching Jeanette Antolin's 39.875 recorded in 2004. Chiles also scored her first perfect 10 on bars this season and the second bars 10 of her career. She added two more 9.975s after her 10, scoring a new career-high of 9.975 on beam and a meet-winning 9.975 on floor. Her scores helped UCLA record a season-high team total of 198.175, as well as the No. 3 uneven bars score in program history, a 49.725. Chiles has scored 39.8+ in the all-around in her last two meets, and 20 of her last 21 routines have scored 9.9 or higher, including 16 of those 20 at 9.95 or higher. With her four event victories at the Stanford meet, she increased her team lead to 26 first-place finishes.
Joining Chiles as Pac-12 weekly award-winners are Utah's Cristal Isa (Specialist of the Week), California's eMjae Frazier (Freshman/Newcomer of the Week) and Arizona State's Hannah Scharf (Coaches Choice).
