Three Bruin Teams Receive APR Public Recognition Award

Bruin Athletics

Beach Volleyball, women's cross country and women's tennis earn perfect score.

UCLA's NCAA Academic Progress Rates (APR) remained at high levels for the 2018-19 through 2021-22 period, with three teams earning Public Recognition Awards and each Bruin team recording four-year APR averages that are above the 930 score that the NCAA uses as a threshold for penalties. A total of 17 teams recorded scores at or above the national four-year rate of 984.

The APR serves as a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of student-athletes during an academic term and can help indicate eventual graduation rates.

Three Bruin teams received an APR Public Recognition Award with perfect scores of 1,000 – beach volleyball for the sixth consecutive time, women's cross country for the second straight year and women's tennis.

A total of nine UCLA teams earned single-year perfect marks of 1,000 for the 2021-22 academic year – baseball, women's basketball, beach volleyball, women's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, softball, men's soccer, and women's tennis.
