Football Schedule Announced for 2023

SAN FRANCISCO – The 2023 UCLA football season kicks off Sept. 2 with the first of six home games at Rose Bowl Stadium, the Pac-12 Conference announced Wednesday.
The Bruins open up versus Sun Belt Conference runner-up Coastal Carolina, marking the programs' first-ever meeting. The Chanticleers reached No. 23 in the AP Top 25 and AFCA Coaches Poll during the 2022 campaign.
UCLA makes its initial trip to San Diego State's Snapdragon Stadium Sept. 9. The Bruins most recently faced the Aztecs on the road in 2005, when they notched a 44-21 win. Week 3 opponent North Carolina Central, which went 10-2 and captured the HBCU national championship in 2022, comes to the Rose Bowl for the first time Sept. 16.
UCLA opens Pac-12 play Sept. 23 at defending conference champion Utah. This represents the earliest matchup of the programs since Utah became a Pac-12 member. Following their only bye of the season, the Bruins welcome Washington State back to Pasadena, Calif. for the first time since 2015, on Oct. 7. Another first since 2015 occurs Oct. 14, when UCLA takes on Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore. The Beavers are coming off their first 10-win season since 2006.
The Bruins look for their third straight victory against Stanford when they make the trip north Oct. 21. UCLA will also try for a third consecutive win versus Colorado when new head coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders brings the Buffaloes to the Rose Bowl Oct. 28.
Back-to-back dates with the desert schools follow, as the Bruins play at Arizona Nov. 4 before seeing Arizona State and new head coach Kenny Dillingham in the Rose Bowl Nov. 11.
The 93rd meeting of crosstown rivals UCLA and USC takes place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Nov. 18. The Bruins earned a 62-33 win when it most recently traveled across town, in 2021. The regular-season finale against California Nov. 25 also rounds out the home slate, with UCLA looking to prevail for a third straight time in the series.
The Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be played Friday, Dec. 1 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Each of UCLA's regular-season games is set to be played on a Saturday.
