October 17, 2023 | Women's Basketball
LOS ANGELES – Graduate student Charisma Osborne has been named to the Preseason Watchlist for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award, the Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.
Osborne repeats with the preseason honor, having been picked to the same watchlist before the 2022-23 season. The Bruin shooting guard is coming off an All-Pac-12 season after leading UCLA in points (571 PTS, 15.9 PPG), rebounds (211 REB, 5.9 RPG) and steals (52). She also earned WBCA All-America Honorable Mention and All-Pac-12 Defensive Team Honorable Mention, and she was a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week (Nov. 21, Dec. 5) during her senior campaign. Over the summer, Osborne represented Team USA at the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in July, averaging 5.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game en route to a silver medal.
The Moreno Valley, Calif., native heads into her graduate campaign ranked ninth all-time for UCLA in points scored (1,798 career points) and looks to move up that historic list. Osborne is also third all-time for UCLA in three-point field goals made (225 3FGM).
