The Bruins celebrate after their Senior Day win

UCLA Earns 198.275 in Senior Day Victory, Captures Share of Pac-12 Title

LOS ANGELES - The No. 5 UCLA Bruins (8-4-2) posted the sixth-highest team total in school history in a 198.275-195.550 Senior Day victory over Iowa State in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Jordan Chiles recorded the highest all-around score in the nation and UCLA's second-highest score of all-time with a career-high 39.900. Chiles scored her second consecutive perfect 10 on uneven bars and added a pair of 9.975s on vault and floor exercise.
Additionally, by virtue of Oregon State's victory over Utah this afternoon, UCLA won a share of the Pac-12 regular season title, tying for first in the conference standings with the Beavers, Utes and California. This is UCLA's first regular season title since the conference started awarding them in 2020.
The Bruins compiled a total of 11 individual career-highs, including personal bests from all three all-arounders – Chiles (39.900), Selena Harris (39.750) and Emily Lee (39.500). UCLA also set a new season-high on vault with a 49.475 and tied its season-best on balance beam with a 49.625.
The first rotation set UCLA ahead of Iowa State, 49.475-49.075, thanks to back-to-back 9.975s from Chiles and Harris. After senior Margzetta Frazier and freshman Maddie Anyimi led off with scores of 9.750 and 9.775, Lee put up a 9.850, followed by a 9.900 from junior Chae Campbell. Harris then stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 vault for a career-high 9.975, and Chiles drilled her Yurchenko double full for another near-perfect 9.975. The Cyclones remained within four-tenths of the Bruins thanks to five 9.800 scores on bars, led by Madelyn Langkamp's 9.875.
In the third rotation, UCLA used three 9.950s to tie their season-best score on the balance beam with a 49.625. Lee led off the rotation with another career-high, scoring 9.950. Freshman Ciena Alipio followed up by tying her career best of 9.900. After Padurariu scored 9.875, Chiles and Harris both recorded 9.950s, Harris' score tying her career-best. The Bruins' beam success extended into senior Emma Andres' exhibition routine; as she posted a career-best 9.850.
The Bruins will compete for another title at next week's Pac-12 Championship meet, which takes place Mar. 18 at the Maverik Center in West Valley, Utah.

The Bruins continued their momentum on uneven bars in the second rotation, with all six competitors scoring 9.875 or higher. Senior Kaylany Steele led off with a 9.875, followed by another 9.875 from Lee, her career-best on bars. The Bruins then went on a run of three consecutive 9.900 routines, with Ana Padurariu, Harris and Frazier all collecting the score. Chiles rounded out the rotation with her second consecutive perfect score on bars and her third 10 of the season. Iowa State fell further behind after scoring just 48.375 on beam, putting the Bruins ahead at the halfway mark, 99.050-97.450.Back-to-back 9.975s! @ChilesJordan is still on fire!

Malabuyo and Harris each scored 9.925s, and Frazier collected a 9.900 in her final regular season performance in front of the home crowd. Chiles anchored for the third time in the meet and nearly scored another perfect 10, receiving her 11th 9.975 of the year. In addition to sweeping the all-around, the Bruins also placed first on all of the individual events. Chiles won or tied for first on every event, sharing the vault title with Harris with a 9.975 and the beam crown with Lee and Harris with a 9.950. Chiles won her eighth bars title of the year with a 10.0 and her seventh floor crown with a 9.975.With her second 9.975 of the day, @ChilesJordan locks in the highest all-around score in the nation this year, a 39.9, which ties Jamie Dantzscher for the second-highest total in school history!
