No. 3 UCLA Sweeps Its Way Through March to May

GULF SHORES, Ala.ย -- No. 3 UCLA (18-1) posted two more wins on Saturday at the March to May event. The Bruins defeatedย No. 10 Georgia Stateย (8-6), 5-0,ย andย the hosts UAB (7-9), 5-0.
In the first dual against the GSU Panthers, the Bruins picked up their 13th sweep of the year. UCLA rolled to straight-set wins on all five courts with Lexy Denaburg and Maggie Boydย clinching the Bruins'ย win, defeating the Panthers' Angel Ferary and Bella Ferary, 21-13, 21-19, on court one.
In the second dual against the Blazers, the Bruins picked up their 14th sweep of the year and their fourth of the weekend. UCLA again rolled to straight-set wins on all five courts with Lexy Denaburg and Jessie Smith teaming up for the first time together on court two to defeat UAB'sย Arden Copping and Mikayla Law-Heese, 22-20, 21-14.
The Bruins have next week off but return to action on Wednesday, March 29 when they host Hawai'i in the Mapes Beach Invitational at 3:00 p.m.
