LOS ANGELES --ย The MPSF announced on Tuesday that redshirt senior goalkeeper Georgia Phillips (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North HS)ย andย freshman attacker Taylor Smithย (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harborย HS) have been named the MPSF/Delfina Player of the Week and theย MPSF/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week, respectively.
Phillips led UCLA to an 11-6 MPSF home win over No. 5 California (Apr. 15). She recorded a season- and career-high-tying 18 saves in a complete game effort, with a save percentage of .750. Cal was held to a season-low-tying six goals (36 shots, 24 on frame). Phillips also had one steal in the contest. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Phillips.
